LanguageTwin Takes First Place in Speed Pitch Riot
In a closely contested race, LanguageTwin came out on top at the annual SmartUps speed pitch event. The company offers a unique educational video chat platform that connects foreign language students from around the world, while providing educators a framework for structuring conversations and assessing the performance and progress of their students. By winning Speed Pitch Riot, LanguageTwin has secured a berth in the Concept-stage round of the Willamette Angel Conference.
"LanguageTwin is in an exciting stage of development and is quickly gaining traction within the investor community," said President & CEO Michael Lucia. "Our success at Speed Pitch Riot will go a long way towards attracting the funds we need to secure the first mover position in the academic, foreign language market."

Laurie de Gonzalez, Pedagogical Development Director, stepped into a new role for the LanguageTwin team.  "This was my first investor presentation," said de Gonzalez. "Thanks to a lot of hard work and great coaching, it was a success!"
LanguageTwin will not rest on it's laurels as it looks ahead to the Willamette Angel Conference. "Our primary goal between now and the WAC is to lock in as many universities as possible for the launch of our pay-site in September 2013," said Lucia. LanguageTwin is also in the running to receive investment from other organizations including, Keiretsu, Angel Oregon, and the Oregon Angel Fund.
